Reform - resource centre for men (Norway)

  • is a non-profit NGO
  • is a national centre for knowledge on men
  • promotes male perspectives in the media and the general public
  • initiates and participates in projects focused on men
  • participates in international projects
  • helps men on the local level
  • receives funding from the Norwegian Ministry of Children and Gender Equality

Our vision is a society based on diversity and equality where power and care are shared independently of gender.

Why do we need a resource centre for men?

To foster gender equality, men and boys have to be included. A wide number of fields suffer from a lack of integration of perspectives of men and boys. To put it bluntly, men will not take a greater part in childcare, will not stop the use of violence against their partners and will not take responsibility for their health until social policies address men's lives more directly.

Our aim is to:

  • Improve knowledge about men's lives and increase the use of this knowledge
  • Stimulate men's reflections on their own roles and responsibilities
  • Support men's collective efforts
  • Help men in life phases and life situations where they are experiencing difficulties

Reform has a primary focus on men's health, sexuality, fathering, violence and the education of boys.
